Síndrome de Bouveret: Caso clínico y revisión de la literatura Bouveret syndrome. Report of one case

SUMMARY Bouverets syndrome is a rare entity consisting in a duodenal obstruction due to the passage of gallstones from the gallbladder to the duodenum through a cholecysto or choledochoduodenal fistula. The clinical picture is nonspecific and pre-operative diagnosis is not easy. Ultrasonography, abdominal CT scan and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy are the main diagnostic procedures and sometimes, the endoscopy is a therapeutic option, too. We report a 76 years old man with a duodenal obstruction, caused by a gallstone. The patient was subjected to a cholecystectomy and resection of the anterior duodenal wall. The defect was repaired with a Roux en Y duodeno-jejunoanastomosis. The postoperative period was uneventful and the patient was discharged 10 days after surgery. The definitive pathological diagnosis was a transmural gallbladder carcinoma.
