Connected Objects Platform Specification, Version 1

This specification provides design guidelines for the common part of platforms for support of machine-to-machine (M2M) services. The document first provides definitions for the relevant terminology, and subsequently specifies the architecture and interfaces for the general design. Further, the non-functional requirements are identified, and the services provided by the platform are described. Further, the design principles and design tools are specified, and properties such as composition, modularity and edge behaviour are specified. Even further, generic protocols for the platform services are specified using SDL. Finally, the general requirements for handling information security are specified.
