Experiment research on the sciatic nerve lesion reparation in LIDP by electro-acupuncture at Huantiao point

Objective: To observe the reparation effect on lubar intervertebral disc protrusion(LIDP) rabbits' sciatic nerve latency and conduction of velocity,to reveal impairment and repair mechanism of LIDP rabbits by electroacupuncture at Huantiao point.Methods: The 40 rabbits were randomized into 4 groups: blank contrast group,model group,Huantiao group and non-point group,each group have 10 rabbits.The model of LIDP rabbits by home-made equipment of LIDP animal pathological model was adopted.Determine the sciatic nerve latency and conduction of velocity of rabbits by system of BL-410 electrophysiology.Results: Compare with the sciatic nerve latency and conduction of velocity to each group before and after treatment,the post-treatment Huantiao group's sciatic nerve latency is significant lower than the prior treatment(P0.01),and conduction of velocity of post-treatment is much higher than the prior treatment of Huantiao group(P0.01);Compare with the difference between before and after treatment of group comparison to the sciatic nerve latency and conduction of velocity,the Huantiao group is significant higher than that in blank contrast group,model group and non-point group(P0.01).Conclusion: Electro-acupuncture at Huantiao point could decurtate sciatic nerve latency and increase its conduction of velocity of LIDP rabbits obviously.
