In vitro investigation of a novel cancer therapeutic method using embolizing properties of magnetorheological fluids

This work demonstrates the principle of a novel cancer therapeutic method using magnetorheological fluids to inhibit the blood supply to a tumor in order to starve it. The sealing effect to the fluid flow is easily achieved at low particle concentrations with strong pressure resistance and reasonable sealing times in a simulated blood network using plastic tubes.
