Development for Visual Simulation System of Chimney under Seismic Action

In order to describe the failure mechanism of the chimney under earthquake directly,the visual simulation system of the chimney under seismic action is proposed and established.Taking VC++ for platform,combined with OpenGL graphic library and the data files from ANSYS,and based on the parameterized modeling for different chimneys,the 3D visual simulation which could show the dynamic properties of chimneys subjected to different kinds of seismic action is finished.The example comes to the conclusion that the top of the chimney would be damaged under horizontal seismic action.The system also achieves the strong function for making inquiries about the structural parameters of different chimneys,and the thickness of the chimney at any positions under earthquake action.It provide the direct basis for the seismic design of chimney and prediction of earthquake damages.
