摘要
An experimental study compared the performance of a real-life HTML application and an AJAX application that implemented the same user interface. A statistically significant number of trials were used to collect data on the performance of each when presented with the same tasks. Response size and service time performance measures were computed for the applications. AJAX provided significant performance increase in response size, thereby reducing bandwidth requirements. A typical user would see a performance increase in the response size of 55%. AJAX provided a mean service time improvement of approximately 16%. A typical user's service time would improve by 21%.
