摘要
ABSTRACT Prevention of deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary emboli is a concern of surgeons of all specialties. Several modalities employing physical or pharmacologic principles currently are in use. Intermittent pneumatic compression stockings have been shown to be effective and free of major sequelae. This report describes a case of peroneal nerve compression neuropathy following the use of intermittent pneumatic compression stockings. The literature regarding prophylaxis of deep venous thrombosis is reviewed. (J GYNECOL SURG 5:389, 1989)
