摘要
Diabetes and hypertension are common causes of chronic kidney disease (CKD). CKD directly or indirectly affects different aspects of drug pharmacokinetics or pharmacodynamics. Pharmacokinetic refers to the movement of the drug through different body compartments. Pharmacokinetic defines drug absorption and bioavailability, tissue distribution, metabolism, and elimination. Patients with CKD have altered pharmacokinetic properties in addition to having a number of clinical comorbidities that require close monitoring to avoid adverse drug reactions while correcting or preventing complications of these comorbid conditions.
