Building the MEGA Image-Subtraction Pipeline in the Era of Virtual Observatories

We are inventing techniques to increase variable source yields from image subtraction analyses. An example innovation that will improve defection efficiency by about 10% is presented. The MEGA image-subtraction pipeline is a software instrument that could evolve into a tool to do microlensing science with virtual observatories.
