AUTOMATED DETERMINATION OF ANTIMICROBIAL DRUG RESIDUES IN HONEY

A fast and sensitive automated chemical method for the deterinination of tetracyclines and sulphonamides in honey is described. The method is based on dialysis with on-line trace enrichment using HPLC. An automated sample pre-treatment, in combination with specific detection techniques, enables a high sample throughput and increase of sensitivity. The study was made in co-operation by National Veterinary and Food Research Institute in Finland and National Food Administration in Sweden.
