Gun firing simulation analysis

Development, validation & verification processes are of most important processes within the research and development projects of defense systems in which costs of testing are very effective. Simulation systems with simulated world of systems is required to be utilized in the process when the products are incomplete or the test environment and execution in the real world costs a great deal of time and money. Testing the functional requirements of weapon control systems in the platforms like gun fire control systems with its software and hardware subsystems in an environment with required simulators reduces costs. Analysis results of those test executions in the simulated environment support the decisions on improvement efforts or operational changes of the fire control system. Platforms, fire control systems and fired munitions can be simulated in a distributed fire simulation environment in which various types of simulators are interoperable. With the analysis of hit/miss ratio of the execution in this simulation environment, the performance of the tested system (in this case the fire control system) is evaluated. This work briefly describes a simulation environment for a fire control test system.
