摘要
This paper describes the design, architecture and implementation of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) shared streaming video (SSV) application that executes within the framework of the Lucent Techologies' 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) IMS services architecture. IMS being only one of several standards for creating applications, we will use the most appropriate standards where necessary and provide "hooks" that glue the different worlds together Examples of other standards that we will make use of in this application include Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP). The SSV application allows for the sharing of streamed video content between multiple users connected in a voice over Internet Protocol (VolP) call. It allows for the sharing of streamed video content between multiple users connected in a VOlP call and supports two-way, point-to-point calls, as well as multi-party conference calls connected to the SSV conference bridge. We present an overview of the application, describe the design parameters, and discuss the integration of the application components within the Lucent IMS environment. We then describe the functional components and specify their interactions, illustrating this with behavioral descriptions for different application scenarios. One important outcome of this implementation is a framework for including non-SIP protocols such as HTTP and devices such as RTSP video servers into Lucent IMS applications. We also discuss future extensions of this sharing framework to include other media such as MP3 files and Web pages. (c) 2006 Lucent Technologies Inc.
