Configurations With F-Electrons

For configurations with ƒ and d electrons the energies of the terms with large L and S values are calculated. These formulae were of use by the analysis of the spectra of Th and U. The configurations ƒ x are partially calculated. The distances between the multiplets of high multiplicity can be expressed in one parameter ( 5F 2 + 6F 4 − 91 F 6 ). By using the analogy with the configurations d x , the grouping of the terms at the point of degeneracy is given.
