Study on the correlation between functional aortic regurgitation and the changes of the elasticity of aortic root

Objective To explore the changes in the elasticity of aortic root on functional aortic regurgitation and the correlation between them.Methods 29 patients with FAR and 31 cases in the control group.Two dimensional short-axis images of aortic root were obtained and divided into 6 segments.The the elasticity of aortic root indexs were calculated and analyzed using the X-Strain technique: The maximum value of velocity(v),strain(s),strain rate(sr) and displacement(d).And calculating the aortic root overall flexibility indexs: the average maximum value of velocity on the six wall(Sv),strain(Ss),strain rate(Ssr) and displacement(Sd).These indicators were compared between two groups.The biplane Simpson method in apical five chamber view were used to measure aortic regurgitation volume(RV).Results Compared with the control group,v,s,sr,d were decreased,Sv,Ss,Ssr,Sd of the FAR group were decreased.Aortic regurgitant volume(RV) were negatively correlated with Sv,Ss,Ssr,Sd.The correlated coefficient were(-0.730,-0.815,-0.758,-0.753).Conclusion The changes of the elasticity of aortic root were decreased,and it may be one of risk factors involved in the formation of functional aortic regurgitation.
