Quantification of intrinsic and extrinsic les function in gastroesophageal reflux disease

Purpose: Although two distinct sphincteric mechanisms exist at the esophagogastric junction, the intrinsic LES and the crural diaphragm, these smooth and skeletal muscle components have not been quantified separately in reflux and non-reflux patients.
