androstadienone maintained significantly higher levels of the hormone cortisol in women. These results suggest that, like rodents, humanscaninfluencethehormonalbalanceofconspecificsthroughchemosignals.Critically,thisstudyidentifiedasinglecomponentof sweat,androstadienone,ascapableofexertingsuchinfluence.Thisresultpointstoapotentialroleforsynthetichumanchemosignalsin clinicalapplications.
