摘要
Image morphing allows smooth transition between2D images. However, one of the limitations ofexisting image morphing techniques is the lack ofinteraction - the viewpoints of the interpolatedimages are restrained to the line joining the opticalcenters of the source and the destination images.Another limitation of existing image morphingtechniques is that shape warping often causesdistortion due to barycentric mapping. In thispaper, we present our trifocal morphing techniqueto address these problems. The new techniqueallows a user to change the viewpoint of the outputimages, i.e., increasing the degrees of freedom ofinteraction, and supports both interpolation andextrapolation. By making use of the intrinsicgeometric relationship among the reference imagesfor projective transformation, the distortion frombarycentric mapping is also prevented. Unlike otherwarping-based view transferring techniques, trifocal morphing provides very smooth transitionbetween reference images and supports both rigidand non-rigid scenes.
