Relational databases cannot represent many types of data reviewed in Chapter 1. Hence we need a more expressive data model. Section 4.1 describes the infinite relational data model, which is an extension of the relational data model to infinite tables. Section 4.2 describes relational algebra, and Section 4.3 describes SQL queries on infinite relations. Section 4.4 presents the key elements of query evaluation, including the finite representation of infinite relation using the constraint data model.
