Study on the international standardization for the semantic metadata mapping procedure

This paper introduces a semantic metadata mapping procedure which is able to maximize the interoperability among metadata. The methodology consists of three processes such as identifying metadata element sets, grouping data elements, and mapping semantically. And also this paper shows applicable example for the e-book cataloging domain. The methodology in this paper is recommended for use in a specific subject domain because the procedure can be more meaningful when a specific information object is concerned.
