Land Use Change of China Based on Fuzzy Classification and Markov Model

Land use change plays vital roles in regional, social and economic development. Based on three phases of NDVI and climate images acquired in 1982, 1990 and 1998, and fuzzy rule-based classification, this paper took China as a case study to analyze spatial change of land use by Markov model and transformation matrix. The research results indicate that the change of land use in China is getting bigger, and the change tendency will keep relatively stable in the future. Especially, maximum change of land use comes from grassland and unable land, and only forestland and grassland keep a decreasing tendency.
