ZELU: A Case Study of Computer Technology in Electronic Labour Union Construction in Zhejiang University

The rapid progress in information and communication technologies has made the Internet be widely used in our daily life and many other fields. The virtual society is based on the Internet and it is also a problem to the labour union under such environment. Electronic labour union will improve the efficiency of the union and help the members to communication with each other. But it is a challengeable work to take the advantages of the Internet and construct electronic labour union to assist the work of the labour union. In this paper, we present the electronic labour union (ZELU) construction in Zhejiang University as a special case. ZELU is constructed based on the analysis of the functions of labour union and the status of the network in Zhejiang University. ZELU has three contributions: (1) it will provide fruitful resources for its members; (2) it can improve the efficiency of the performance of the labour union; (3) the members can exchange their information more conveniently. The investigation results show that ELU has positive effects in the practical work.
