Zhiyuan Lin

Dr Zhiyuan Lin is a Lecturer in Railway Operations and Control at Institute for Transport Studies (ITS), University of Leeds. He has over 10 years’ experience in train unit scheduling by advanced optimisation approaches in collaboration with several UK train operating companies and software development enterprises. His current research interests focus on transport scheduling, especially in train timetabling, rolling stock and crew scheduling and the analyses on their performance, resilience and robustness. He also works in several closely relevant Operational Research areas, such as network flow optimisation, multi-objective optimisation, AI-aided approaches in rail scheduling and efficient solution approaches for integer linear programs.
