Zhe Wang

Zhe Wang received the B.S. degree in chemistry and the Ph.D. degree in material electrochemistry and bioanalytical chemistry from Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China, in 2001 and 2007, respectively. From 2007 to 2014, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at both the University of California Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, USA; and Oakland University, Rochester Hills, MI, USA. From 2014 to 2020, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans, LA, USA. In 2020, he joined the Chemistry Department, Oakland University. Throughout his career, he has authored three books and more than 50 journal articles, and holds five inventions. His research interests lie in the study of interfacial materials and phenomena, particularly focusing on molecular reactions occurring at the electrode/liquid/gas interface. His research is driven by three main areas: green electrochemical synthesis and conversion, advanced bio-interfaces for molecule quantification and biomarker detection, and multifunctional composite materials. Dr. Wang also holds the position of an Assistant Editor for the journal Advanced Composites and Hybrid Materials. He has further contributed to his field as the Area Chair of the AICHE conference for the 2020–2021 and 2022–2023 sessions.
