Dr Wang is a clinical epidemiologist in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine Monash University, with over 20 years’ experience in epidemiological research of musculoskeletal conditions. She has been a recipient of National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) PhD Scholarship, Public Health Training Fellowship, Career Development Fellowship (Level 1), and Translating Research Into Practice Fellowship.

Dr Wang’s work has contributed to better understanding of the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis that inform the preventive and therapeutic strategies for osteoarthritis. Dr Wang has led randomised controlled trials testing novel treatment for knee and hand osteoarthritis. Her research is primarily supported by the NHMRC and Arthritis Australia.

Dr Wang has published over 210 peer-reviewed manuscripts, including those published in the highly ranked general medicine and rheumatology journals (Lancet, Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, Arthritis & Rheumatology). Her work is highly cited, with over 11,500 citations and H-index of 65. She is a member of the Osteoarthritis Research Society International and Australia Chinese Association of Biomedical Sciences, and an academic/associate editor of Frontiers in Endocrinology, PLoS One, and BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders. She sits in many grant review committees and reviews manuscripts for over 30 international journals.
