Yongchun Xie was born in China in 1966. She received the degree from the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, in 1989, and the master’s and Ph.D. degrees in automatic control theory and its applications from CAST, in 1991 and 1994, respectively. She is currently with BICE, CAST. She has published over 40 papers and received several national invention patents while having been employed as a Doctoral Advisor of CAST. She was a recipient of the one First-class and two Third-class Ministerial Awards for S&T progress. As a Professor superior in the domain of control theory and engineering as well as spacecraft intelligent and autonomous control, she have contributed a lot to the autonomous rendezvous and docking of spacecrafts.
