个人简介
Yinghui Tian is an Associate Professor at the Department of Infrastructure Engineering, the University of Melbourne. His research background is offshore Geotechnics.
Prior to his appointment at Melbourne, he had a ~12 year research experience at the Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems (COFS), the University of Western Australia.
He is currently an Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellow and are the first Chief Investigator of two ARC Discovery Projects. He is passionate in fundamental soil mechanics and his research work is set to provide reliable and economic foundation solutions for offshore engineering developments. His current research projects include (1) offshore mooring and anchoring system development, (2) offshore pipeline integrity and stability study, (3) large deformation modelling and constitutive model development, (4) piling engineering and offshore renewable foundations, and (5) problematic carbonate soil behaviour modelling.
He has a strong commitment to research training through the supervision of 19 PhD students and in the support and mentoring of 9 postdoctoral fellows. He has been developing strong engagement with industry to convert the innovative research outcomes to engineering practice and design. He has developed two suites of computer software (UWAINT and CASPA), which are licenced to leading offshore industry companies to support their offshore developments.
He is the recipient of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) David Hislop Award for the best paper on offshore engineering in 2017. He has published over 120 refereed journal and conference papers. He is currently a member of ASCE and associate editor of ASCE Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice.
Please contact Yinghui for PhD opportunities if you are the same passionate in doing research in offshore geotechnical engineering.
