He is a well-known experts in agricultural and rural water conservancy in China. He has been long engaged in irrigation and drainage engineering scientific research work with a high academic level and strong professional dedication. He has a rigorous style of study and makes a contribution to the exploration of the way of water-saving agriculture construction and the development strategy suitable to our national condition in perspective of theory, technology and system, and promotes serialization, standardization and generalization of China's water-saving irrigation products. The technical connotation, index system and benefit system of irrigated agriculture were put forward for the first time by him in China, which laid a foundation for the formation of technology system of irrigated agriculture water-saving suitable for China's national conditions. His participation in hosting the project "development and improvement of spray micro-irrigation equipment", which was rated as excellent scientific and technological achievements by the Ministry of Science and Technology and other three ministries, creates conditions for the industrialization of sprinkler and micro-irrigation equipment.
