Afterwards he joined Korea University in September, 2009 as an assistant professor of the Department of Physics. Since then, he has embarked on researches for overcoming the effect of tissue turbidity with an aim to imaging deep inside biological tissues. His recent works include the overcoming of diffraction limit using a disordered medium (Physical Review Letters 107, 023902 (2011)), the development of a scanner-free endoscopic imaging using a single multimode fiber (Physical Review Letters 109, 203901 (2012)), the demonstration of maximal energy transport through turbid medium (Nature Photonics 6, 581 (2012)), and the development of ultrahigh-resolution and deep-tissue imaging method (Nature Photonics 9, 253 (2015)). On the ground of recent studies that have advanced the control of wave propagation through disordered media, his laboratory has set the research direction to resolve tissue turbidity for super-depth and high-resolution optical imaging, light manipulation and phototherapy.
