William Cliby, M.D. is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology. He is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mayo Clinic. His clinical expertise includes surgical management of gynecologic cancers, specifically:
Surgical treatment of advanced stage ovarian cancer
Surgery for gynecologic cancers, including:
Ovary, tubal and primary peritoneal
Cervix
Uterine
Vulvar
Surgery for complex pelvic and adnexal masses
Surgical management of vulvar Paget's disease
Open and minimally invasive surgery including robotic surgery

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Cliby is active in research and education nationally. He is the Virgil S. Counseller Professor of Surgery, and has authored over 220 peer reviewed publications. He previously served as Fellowship Program Director in Gynecologic Oncology at Mayo Clinic and continues to instruct internationally in surgery. His research interests include surgical quality improvement and outcomes in ovarian cancer and lab-based research for novel therapies.
