Wessam Ajib (M’5–SM’15) received the Engineer Diploma in physical instruments from INPG, Grenoble, France, in 1996, and the master’s and Ph.D. degrees in computer networks from the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunication, Paris, in 1997 and 2000, respectively. He has been an Architect and Radio Network Designer with Nortel Networks, Ottawa, ON, Canada, from 2000 to 2004. He has conducted many projects on the third generation of wireless cellular networks. He held a Post-Doctoral Fellowship with the Electrical Engineering Department, École Polytechnique de Montréal, QC, Canada, from 2004 to 2005. Since 2005, he has been with the Department of Computer Sciences, Université du Québec à Montreál, QC, Canada, where he is currently a Full Professor. His current research interests include wireless communications and networks, multiple access design, and traffic scheduling. He is also the author or co-author of many journal and conferences papers in these areas. Prof. Ajib received the best paper awards at the IEEE International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing, Networking and Communications (IEEE WiMob) 2016, the IEEE Digital Avionics System Conference (IEEE DASC) 2014, the IEEE Internaional Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing, Networking and Communications (IEEE WiMob) 2008, and the IEEE International Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC) 2008.
