Bio
Wen-Yen Lin (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1988, and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA, in 1992 and 2000, respectively.
From 1993 to 2004, he worked at Motia Inc., Burlingame, CA, USA, for embedded system designs, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)/Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) designs, and RF application board developments. In 2004, he relocated back to Taiwan to setup the Taiwan Branch office for Motia Inc. and continued to promote company technologies and products to Taiwan Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). In 2006, he joined Compal Electronics Inc., Taipei, to lead RF Communication Department on integrating RF/wireless devices in notebooks, netbooks, hand-held devices, and consumer electronic applications. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Chang Gung University, Taoyuan, Taiwan, in February 2009, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests are in inertial sensing technologies for health care applications, embedded system design for tele-cares, and parallel and distributed processing including multicore system on a chip (SoC) designs. One of his recent research fields is focused on seismocardiogram/mechanocardiogram.
Dr. Lin has received two National Innovation Awards from Taiwan in 2017 and 2020, respectively, on related research field.
