His research interests include retinopathy of prematurity, pediatric retinal disorders, surgery for complicated vitreoretinal diseases, and plasmin enzyme applications in vitreoretinal diseases.
Dr. Wu is the first surgeon in Taiwan to master successful retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) treatment and is now expanding his medical expertise at international scale. Up to date, he has published over 220 articles in the field of ophthalmology and retina, and contributed to 8 book chapters of retinal textbooks in English. He performs over 1000 vitroretinal surgeries annually, and has been invited to speak in over 200 international lectures. For the treatment of ROP, the successful rate of stage 3 ROP is over 98% and around 90% for stage 4 ROP.
