Research Interests: My research focuses on modeling interactions between different agents in the real world that are used to make decisions affecting humans at scale while fusing context-driven considerations like robustness to strategic agents or ensuring fair outcomes. Classical machine learning models used in decision-making like feature-based classification, multi-armed bandits, or Markov Decision Processes have served as my starting point. My work has studied the impact of notions like affirmative action, meritocracy, or strategic robustness inspired by real-world concerns in these models. Studying these notions in such models introduces novel modeling and computational and statistical challenges. I have leveraged techniques from several areas like human behavior modeling, discrete and continuous optimization, statistics, game theory, etc, and my research requires interdisciplinary collaboration.
