Vincent W. Zheng is a research scientist at Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC), Singapore, and a research affiliate with the Coordinate Science Laboratory of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is currently leading the BigSocial project in ADSC. This project aims to exploit the vast “human sensors” now prevalent in our digital society—i.e., the social media– and enable social analytics over such data, towards a human-centered cyber system. He is also generally interested in the area of mobile computing, including practical location and activity recognition, mobile user profiling, mobile recommendation, augmented reality, etc. Research Interests: Graph mining, information extraction, ubiquitous computing, and general machine learning with structured outputs, probabilistic graphical models, etc.
