Vicent J. Botti Navarro is full professor of Computer Systems and Languages and Head of Grupo de Tecnología Informática-Inteligencia Artificial at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV), Spain.
His current research activities include the following interdisciplinary areas:
Multiagent Systems
Within the MAS (Multi-Agent Systems) research line, he is working in the following areas:
MAS architectures: The main contributions in this area are the ARTIS Architecture (a Hard Real-Time Agent Architecture), and SIMBA a Real-Time Multiagent System Platform.
Methodology and Software Engineering for MAS: The main contribution in this area is the RT-Message Methodology an extension of the Message Multiagent System Methodology suitable for developing Real-Time Multiagent Systems.
Communication, coordination and negotiation among agents: contribution in this area is an extension of the SL-2 language suitable for expressing real restrictions in the agent interactions.
Holonic systems: The main contribution in this area is the Anemona a new Multiagent System Based Methodology Manufacturing Multiagente Systems from a Holonic Systems point of view.
Real-Time Artificial Intelligence
The main contributions in this area are the Slack Slide Scheduling (SSS) Algorithm, a heuristic for scheduling soft real the ARTIS architecture, and ARLIPS a Rule Based Language suitable for hard real systems.
Soft-computing
The main contribution in this area is a Soft Computing technique based on the combination of neural networks and a genetic algorithm for the discovery and optimization of new catalytic materials when exploring a high-dimensional space.
