Bio

Valerio Formichella (S’17) received the B.S. degree in physics from Università del Piemonte Orientale, Vercelli, Italy, in 2010, and the M.S. degree in theoretical physics from the Università di Torino, Turin, Italy, in 2014. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in metrology with the Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy. He was with the Italian Metrology Institute, Turin, where he focusing on atomic clocks analysis and mathematical modeling, time-scale algorithms, and timekeeping in global navigation satellite systems. His other research interests include gravitational waves detection and quantum gravities. Mr. Formichella won the Student Paper Competition at the EFTF-IFCS in 2017 and the Young Scientist Award at the URSI GASS in 2017.
