V Hariharan

Dr. V. HARIHARAN received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1984 and Master’s degree in Computer Aided Design in 1997 under Madras University. He received his Ph.D from Anna University, Chennai. He is having 33 years of teaching experience. He began his teaching profession from August 1985. He served 10 years as Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CSI polytechnic College, Salem, after that he joined as a faculty in Mechanical Engineering at Kongu Engineering College, Erode in 1997. Currently, he is a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Kongu Engineering College. He has established the vibration laboratory at the cost of Rs.25 lakhs. Using the vibration instruments, he has rendered consultancy services to many nearby industries to solve the vibration problems and to improve the product quality. He was awarded with state level best project for Polytechnic Colleges by Directorate of Technical Education during 1986. He was awarded with Best Faculty Award during 2005 by Kongu Engineering College. In 2007 and 2010, ISTE, New Delhi, India, granted him with an achievement award for guiding the best M.Tech Thesis Titled “Vibration suppression of cantilever beam using vibration absorber” and “Design of rolling type seismic isolation to arrest seismic vibration” respectively. In 2022 ISTE Tamilnadu Section granted him ISTE Best Student Chapter Faculty Advisor Award -2021. He has successfully completed two Ph.D Scholars and Presently Guiding 3 Research Scholars. He has evaluated Ph.D reports of various Universities like JNTU-Ananthapur, Nagpur University and Dr.M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute University. He has published 33 research papers in International and National Journals, 120 research papers in International and National Conferences. He organised many Anna University, Chennai and ATAL Sponsored Faculty Development Programmes for the benefit of the budding teachers in Mechanical Engineering in Tamilnadu. He also organised many AICTE, DST and CSIR Sponsored Seminars, Non formal courses and Workshops. His areas of interest are Dynamic System Analysis, Condition Monitoring of Mechanical Systems, Fault Diagnosis of Bearings, Modal Analysis of Structures, Energy Efficient Systems and Dynamic Behaviours of Composite Materials. He is a Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Indian Institution of Engineers (INDIA), and Fellow member of International society for Research and Development. He is an Academic Council Nominee for Board of Studies and ANNA University Nominee for the Board of studies and Department Advisory Committee member for the autonomous colleges.
