Victor Fernandes

Victor Fernandes is a Ph. D student in public administration at the École nationale d’administration publique (ENAP). His research interests include understanding the issues surrounding the transition to adulthood of youth from immigrant and diverse ethnocultural backgrounds. More specifically, he is interested in the role of significant others in the youth's entourage and the interactions and negotiations they make with them as they transition to adulthood. His Ph.D studies, under the supervision of Professor Martin Goyette (ENAP), bring his research interests to the evolving field of youth protection studies in Quebec. He wishes to understand issues which immigrant youth from diverse ethnocultural backgrounds face when leaving foster care, in order to propose public policy solutions to improve support systems for this population.
