个人简介
He is interested in how microorganisms communicate with, and respond to changes occurring within their environment. The primary questions that motivate research in my group are: What are the molecular mechanisms of novel signal transducing systems with emphasis on the development of antibiotic resistance (molecular biology)? How do such signal transducing systems interdependent within regulatory networks (systems biology)? How can we rewire such systems to orchestrate novel expression programs within bacteria (Synthetic Biology)? Knowledge gained from approaches these central questions is applied to the development of genetic tools (e.g. novel expression systems or whole-cell biosensors) for biotechnological purposes.
