Tetsuya Uchimoto

Tetsuya Uchimoto received the B.Eng., M.Eng., and D.Eng. degrees in nuclear engineering from The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan in 1993, 1995, and 1998, respectively. From 1999 to 2001, he was a Research Associate with the Nuclear Engineering Research Laboratory, The University of Tokyo, where he was a Lecturer and an Associate Professor, from 2001 to 2003 and from 2003 to 2017, respectively. Since 2017, he has been a Professor with the Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. His research interests include the evaluation of the degradation of structural materials, such as austenitic stainless steels, nickel-based alloys, and high Cr ferritic steels by electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation, structural health monitoring using eddy current testing, ultrasonic testing, and novel sensor development.
