个人简介
He is a fellow of both IEEE and the American Ceramic Society. Dr. Takenaka is a pioneer in the field of lead-free piezoelectric materials, and has also made major contributions in ferroelectric and pyroelectric properties,, and grain-oriented bismuth layer-structured ferroelectric (BLSF) ceramics.
Dr. Takenaka was Visiting Researcher at the Materials Research Laboratory (MRL) of the Pennsylvania State University from August 1986 to August 1987 (1 year).
He was the Chair of IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Japan Chapter (UFFC-20) in 2005-2006 and was an elected member of IEEE UFFC Administrative Committee (2006-2008).
He is the recipient of the 1993 Edward C. Henry Award of the Electronics Division of the American Ceramic Society for the best paper on Electronic Ceramics published in the Journal of the American Ceramic Society during the year 1989. He also received the 55th Ceramic Society of Japan Awards for Academic Achievements in 2001, the IEEE Ferroelectric Recognition Award from the UFFC-Ferroelectrics group in 2007, and the US-Japan Bridge Builder Award of US-Japan Seminar in 2011. He has authored or co-authored over 200 papers and has 10 patents.
The Center for Dielectrics and Piezoelectrics is pleased to honor Tadashi Takenaka with the 2016 W.R. Buessem Award, which will be presented at the Buessem Award Dinner on June 16, 2016, in Kyoto, Japan.
