Panagiotis Svarnas (Senior Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Patras, Patras, Greece, in 2000 and 2004, and the second Ph.D. degree (Hons.) in plasma physics from the University of Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, Pau, France, in 2005. He was a two-year Research Associate with École Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France. He was a one-year Research Associate with the National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS/Alcatel), Marcoussis, France. He was a two-year Research Associate with the University of Liverpool, Liverpool, U.K. He was also a one-year Sabbatical Visitor Professor with Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, USA. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras. He is also a consultant of national and international companies. He has authored and coauthored more than 150 papers in international journals and conferences, in the field of plasma science and high-voltage engineering.
