my main research interests currently include computer networking, smart cities, smart grid, and sustainability studied through computer simulation and modeling. I also examine the use of epidemic protocols for dissemination of information, and I have varying interests in pedagogical research related to cognitive load and online teaching/learning.

My current focus is on the applicability of big data and artificial intelligence techniques toward sustainable energy management in smart cities.
