My research interests focus on understanding infection, transmission, and pathogenicity of seasonal and zoonotic influenza viruses and development of novel approaches to vaccination and the prevention and treatment of viral infections. We have a larger goal of understand pathogen and host mediated immune pathology. My laboratory studies virus-pathogen interactions within the host, i.e. adjacent or co-infection of different respiratory viruses and/or bacteria utilizing a variety of animal models.
