Steve is the Professor of Cellular Immunology, Oxford. He was the first to demonstrate tolerance induction to proteins and then organ grafts using CD4 mAbs in adult rodents. He also helped develop CAMPATH mAbs and then statistical methods for the 3rd Human CD Antigen Workshop (1987) and the first Canine Leukocyte Antigen Workshop (CLAW). He continues to research mechanisms of immune tolerance induction with a focus on regulatory T cells. He has recently received a kidney transplant and CAMPATH.
