Professor Steffi Riedel-Heller studied medicine in Leipzig, She is involved in various scientific societies and on the AWMF Executive Committee. She is editor-in-chief of the Thieme journal ‘Psychiatrische Praxis’. In 2017, she received the highly endowed research prize from the Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation for her work on the prevention of cognitive disorders in old age. She has published over 800 papers to date and is PI of large population-based age cohort studies and multicentre intervention studies.
