Stefan Witte received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the VU University, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 2002 and 2007, respectively. From 2007 to 2010, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Biophysics Group, VU University, where he is currently a Research Associate at the Institute for Lasers, Life and Biophotonics. In 2010–2011, he was a Research Associate in the Kapteyn-Murnane group, JILA, University of Colorado, Boulder. His research interests include ultrafast optics, optical-parametric chirped-pulse amplification development, coherent X-ray generation and imaging, and biomedical microscopy. Dr. Witte was the recipient of a Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) VENI grant in 2009.
