Sinead L. Farrell

Sinéad Louise Farrell received the M.Sc. degree in earth and space science and the Ph.D. degree from University College London, U.K., in 2002 and 2007, respectively. She is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Geographical Sciences and Atmospheric and Oceanic Science, University of Maryland, College Park, MD. She is a principal investigator on both the NASA ICESat-2 and the NASA/NOAA Ocean Surface Topography Science Teams. She serves as a member of the Mission Advisory Group for the European Copernicus Polar Ice and Snow Topography Altimeter (CRISTAL) mission. Her research interests lie in remote sensing of the Earth’s polar regions to study cryospheric and oceanic processes. She is a member of the American Geophysical Union.
