Simon D. Jones

Simon D. Jones received the B.A. degree (Hons.) in geography and archeology from The University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K., in 1993, the M.Sc. degree in remote sensing from University College London, London, U.K., in 1994, and the Ph.D. degree in earth observation science from the University of Leicester, Leicester, U.K., in 1999. He worked for the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission and the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, VIC, Australia. He is currently a Professor of remote sensing with the School of Science, RMIT University, Melbourne, where he is also the Director of the RMIT Centre for Remote Sensing. His research interests include the application of remote sensing technologies for renewable natural resource assessments and fire.
