Simon C. Jones

Simon C. Jones received the M. Chem. and D. Phil. (inorganic chemistry) degrees from the University of Oxford, Oxford, U.K. He spent time at the University of Arizona, Tempe, AZ, USA and Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA, researching new materials for organic electronics and the modification of interfaces in electronic devices. Since 2008, he has held management positions in a number of Southern California-based startup companies focused on the commercialization of technologies originating in labs at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech, Pasadena, CA, USA) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, Cambridge, MA, USA). He is currently a Senior Member of the Technical Staff in the Electrochemical Technologies Group at Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Caltech, with interests in the broad field of energy storage and conversion including next-generation primary and rechargeable battery chemistries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, and electrochemical in situ resource utilization.
